Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) County Barrier Identification

As part of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), every public entity needs to complete an ADA assessment of a space. Within this comprehensive dataset, every curb ramps, pedestrian signal, sidewalk, bus stop, and government facility are considered and evaluated. ADA barriers are noted and an in-depth inventory is developed. This inventory existed in report form, as a database, and as a geospatial dataset. Within the final geospatial dataset, I included image attachments of individual features (curb ramps, pedestrian signals, bus stops, and sidewalks) and incorporated prioritization rankings by performing proximity analyses. While working at the firm, I developed over twenty-five of these datasets, packaged the data in a file geodatabase that the client could use as a living dataset to implement barrier mitigations.

Below is a sample map from one of my projects with a local county government, and shows the types of features we collected. Within each data point, I included information regarding the dimensions of the features, its priority ranking, and suggested solutions for mitigating the barrier.
